Meta revealed on Wednesday that Instagram will allow users to add video Notes, which will help you liven up your Notes.
As notes are currently text-based, they operate similarly to the AIM status messages of my millennial upbringing. (You can even divulge the song you’re now enjoying!) You now have a little more creative freedom when it comes to your Notes thanks to the addition of video, and you can also include a text caption. However, given that video Notes are limited to two-second loops, it seems unlikely that they will take the place of Instagram Stories very soon.
Additionally, the firm is rolling out new reply options for friends’ notes, including GIFs, stickers, videos, audio messages, and images. Your friend will view your response as a direct message if you reply to a note.
Notes, which Meta debuted late last year, seem to be well-liked among teenagers. Though still wear slim pants, currently prefer to write brief posts on another Meta platform, so who knows.
