For Rob Ratin, there was never a question of a normal teenage life.
No, not for him. I want to be successful, change the world for the better and help others in this process.
Rob was born and raised in Brooklyn. He became interested in the business at the age of 12, when he began buying and reselling goods such as shoes and clothing until he was 15. Then he did school, higher education, then work, like his other peers. It is important to note that Rob still values education, saying it is “an opportunity to become a more versatile person and find like-minded people.”
By the time Rob got a part-time job instead of a full-time job at a local store, he had done a little research and decided e-commerce was a good way to go. Eventually, he met his partner Yasha, and together they built several successful Shopify stores and brands using the ecommerce dropshipping model. This is very attractive, especially in light of the global pandemic as more and more people shop online and buy products from brands like Rob’s.
Their business soon led to the founding of Pluto Ad Agency Inc. It’s a good way for them to run ads on platforms like Facebook and Google for their ecommerce stores. To their delight, Pluto has evolved into a platform that creates another source of income for them that can benefit other aspiring business owners.
Through their agency, they provide training and consulting services to aspiring and experienced e-commerce entrepreneurs.
Many people keep telling Rob that he needs a degree to make real money, but he has proven over and over that these people are wrong.
So what is your motivation behind all of this? “It’s a combination of perseverance and the ability to keep up with the times,” says Rob, “although you may not see immediate success. This is the biggest problem for him. During the first two summer months, Rob worked hard on his heavy business, even losing the several thousand dollars he had saved on a part-time job, which made friends and family frustrated, but he kept going.
For him, the future is inspiration.
For Rob Ratin, success means freedom. Once you adjust your thinking and are not limited by the negative things people say, you can truly grow as a person. Rob believes there is a reason many successful people are philanthropists too; they want to lend a helping hand, to give something in return.
