In celebration of the company’s tenth anniversary, OnePlus held a special event in China to unveil the OnePlus 12. One of the most remarkable new phones is the OnePlus 12, which comes with the newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, up to 24 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. After being removed from the OnePlus 11, wireless charging is now available again, and the company has granted its most recent flagship an IP65 rating against dust and water jets.
Up front is a striking curved 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels and an adaptive refresh rate of 1-120 Hz. It is claimed that the BOE-made panel can produce up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness for HDR content or 1,600 nits of brightness for regular use. OnePlus also has class-leading blue light filtering and a 2,160Hz PWM dimming feature.
A Hasselblad-branded camera setup with a 50 MP primary shooter featuring Sony’s dual-layer stacked Lytia 808 sensor is visible when turning around the back. This sensor, which has 1.12µm pixels and a 24mm equivalent f/1.7 lens with OIS, is the same one used in the OnePlus Open.
A 64 MP telephoto module with an optical zoom of 3x and an in-sensor zoom capable of achieving up to 6x lossless magnification complements the primary shooter. A 48 MP ultrawide camera with an IMX581 sensor, equivalent to a 14mm lens, serves as the third shooter.
ColorOS 14.0, which is based on Android 14 in China, is installed on the OnePlus 12, and it is expected to launch as OxygenOS 14 for global markets.
The phone has the largest dual-cell battery that OnePlus has ever included, with a capacity of 5,400 mAh. The OP 12 is noteworthy in addition for supporting 10W reverse wireless charging and up to 50W wireless charging. You can charge at up to 100W if you’d rather use traditional wired methods.
In addition to supporting the most recent versions of Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7, the new flagship also includes an IR blaster and a USB Type-C 3.2 connector for faster wired transfer rates.
The colors of the OnePlus 12 are white, emerald green, and black. In China, the 12/256GB model costs CNY 4,299 ($607), while the version with 24GB RAM and 1TB storage costs CNY 5,799 ($818). In China, pre-orders for the OnePlus 12 are now available, and open sales begin on December 11.
The OnePlus 12 may not be available to the global public until well into January 2024. A date for the official global launch has not yet been confirmed by the company.
