The iOS version of Google Maps now features a new, customisable appearance

Google Maps has always been a valuable and significant application. As time has gone on, Google has improved it by introducing additional features that not only make it easier to get from point “A” to point “B” in a safe and efficient manner, but also provide information on where to eat or stay overnight once you reach “B.” In addition, you will discover where to find entertainment, which places to visit, and much more. All of this is accessible through a single app, which is the best part.

Recently, Google Maps has undergone significant design modifications. significant buttons and tabs along the bottom of the screen have had their color schemes changed from blue to teal. Additionally, the business has given Google Maps users the option to replace the recognizable blue arrow that indicates your transportation with a red automobile, a yellow SUV, or a green pickup truck. However, users most often desired further customisation after four years.

Now, Google Maps users can select between a sports car, an SUV, a sedan, an off-road truck, and a small hatchback. There are eight color choices for each one:

  • White Glacier
  • Black night
  • Ash gray
  • Red poppies
  • Blue sky
  • Bright yellow
  • Green aqua
  • Magenta sunset

You can choose the car or truck to use on Google Maps by scrolling to the left, until the vehicle you wish to use appears in the circle or spotlight. To modify your vehicle, tap the icon that currently represents it. The vehicles’ color selections are located beneath them. Once you’ve made changes to the car on Google Maps, click the blue “Done” button to preserve your changes. The three older car symbols are still accessible, but they lack the ability to customize their colors like the new ones do.

It’s also important to note that this new function is currently limited to the iOS version of Google Maps. You can almost certainly expect that the Android version of Google Maps will ultimately provide the same customisable option because Google has made an effort to maintain functionality throughout the iOS and Android versions of the program.
