Sony Launches Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI: Snapdragon SoCs, 5,000mAh Batteries, Price, Specifications

The European release of the Sony Xperia 1 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI has taken place. Snapdragon chipsets power the new Xperia phones, which are available in three color variants. The flagship Sony Xperia 1 VI sports a vapour chamber cooling system and a 6.5-inch OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The phone is dust and water resistant, with IP65 and IP68 classifications. In comparison, the Sony Xperia 10 VI is a less expensive option featuring a 6.1-inch screen. Both phones have a 48-megapixel primary rear camera and a 5,000mAh battery that can be charged up to 30W.

Sony Xperia 1 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI Costs

The Sony Xperia 1 VI is available in Black, Platinum Silver, and Khaki Green color options, with prices starting at EUR 1,299 (about Rs. 1,17,400) for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model. The 8GB RAM + 128GB edition of the Sony Xperia 10 VI starts at EUR 349, or around Rs. 31,000. It comes in white, blue, and black hues.

The Sony Xperia 1 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI will be available for purchase starting on June 6 and June 10, respectively.

Specifications for the Sony Xperia 1 VI and Xperia 10 VI

In terms of specifications, Android 14 powers the Sony Xperia 1 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI. Sony promises four years of security updates and three significant OS upgrades for the two phones. The former incorporates a 6.5-inch Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 coated OLED display with a variable refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and full-HD+ (1,080×2,340 pixels) resolution. For higher-quality images, the display has Bravia tuning. The 6.1-inch full-HD+ screen of the Sony Xperia 10 VI, on the other hand, features a 60Hz refresh rate with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, together with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, powers the Sony Xperia 1 VI. For optimal performance, it has a vapour chamber cooler. With 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Sony Xperia 10 VI is equipped with a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 SoC.

In terms of optics, the primary cameras on both phones are same. With a 48-megapixel primary Sony Exmor T sensor with a 48mm focal length, a 12-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 12-megapixel zoom camera, the Sony Xperia 1 VI has a triple back camera configuration. For filming 4K HDR 120 frames per second, use the back camera. The phone’s 12-megapixel front camera is designed for taking selfies. With its dual rear camera unit, the Sony Xperia 10 VI is equipped with 48-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. There is an 8-megapixel front camera on it.

In addition to stereo speakers included into both of the new Xperia models, the Sony Xperia 1 VI boasts a new Premium Audio Circuit for 3.5mm wired headphones.

With the Sony Xperia 1 VI and Sony Xperia 10 VI, Sony has included a 5,000mAh battery that supports 30W rapid charging. The dust and water resistance of the former is rated IP65 and IP68. Built to IPX5 and IPX8 standards is the Sony Xperia 10 VI.
