“It all just started with a dream. When he was in his 7th standard, remember being fascinated by the election campaign rallies that would pass by his home. He would rush behind them on his bicycle, and after the rallies are done, collect flags and bring them to hoist them on his terrace. Despite not having a political background, the same craze and excitement continued after his 10th grade too which eventually led to leading a protest with 5000 students boycotting all colleges and that truly changed everything. After that boycott, he was called by ABVP student organisation members and was made The president of his intermediate college Sri Chaitanya Palaka campus.
Although things were going great on the political side of it, soon after his intermediate he lost his dad and the thought of him not being there by his side was hard to deal with. But learning to overcome hurdles, he kept moving forward. After joining his B.Tech in Guru Nanak Engineering College, Sohail joined India’s largest student organisation #NSUI (National Students Union Of India). After joining NSUI,in a span of a year, he contested in students election of NSUI and won, becoming Rangareddy district’s General Secretary with a huge majority. The election period was a very challenging period. With many well-wishers came a few haters. People backstabbed, spread false rumours but what made a difference was that he chose to ignore them and work his way towards success. As days progressed, he started to gain influence and the haters turned to him for help as well. Despite not liking them, he decide to put the past aside and help them out and so smiled and agreed to help them. SOHAIL journey started from being a normal resident from Moosarambagh to getting a recognition as the voice of Telangana students now and a lot more to be done with the years to come.
And he would not have it any other way.
