A new short film produced by Fact Not Fiction Films is set to be screened ahead of the feature length movie ‘Downton Abbey’ in selected cinemas across the U.K.

The film is set in the 1920s in the post-Edwardian era and is a historical period drama that is a continuation of the popular TV series which first aired in the U.K. back in 2010. In total, 52 episodes of the series were filmed and its finale was shown on Christmas Day in 2015. Since the end of the series, there has been speculation that a feature film would be made.
‘Downton Abbey’ was green-lighted last year and went into production where it was shot on location in North Hampshire and at Ealing Studios in the U.K.
This September, short film ‘Missing a Note’ will be shown ahead of the feature at different Everyman Cinemas in the U.K., where audiences will be able to discover a lighthearted story about a young schoolgirl who aspires to become a singer. Along her journey, she gets the chance to perform for a legendary opera singer, but due to the opera singer’s diminishing memory, Molly is set for an adventure she didn’t quite expect.
After gaining support through a crowdfunding campaign, the film went into production and cast a number of upcoming actors and well-known performers including Game of Thrones star Ian McElhinney, musical theatre veteran Elaine Paige and Darcy Jacobs.
‘Downton Abbey’ is also set for release in the United States on 20th September with Universal Pictures International and Focus Features onboard as distributors.
