Samsung Electronics plans to launch a mid-range smartphone in the 400,000 won ($305) range to start the new year. The tech behemoth from South Korea declared on Thursday that the Galaxy A25 5G will go on sale in the country on January 5.
The Galaxy A24, which debuted in May of last year and was released earlier this year, was preceded by the new smartphone. The early launch, which moves the release date forward by roughly four months, appears to be in line with the government’s emphasis on lowering household phone bills. After releasing two mid-range smartphones (A24 and A34) in the first half of the previous year, Samsung Electronics intends to release four mid-range smartphones in the first half of this year that are priced at 800,000 won or less.
Retailing for 449,900 won, the Galaxy A25 is priced roughly 50,000 won more than its predecessor. Although the previous model was only available for LTE, the Galaxy A25 is set to launch as a 5G model. Three colors will be offered: blue-black, light blue, and yellow. The Exynos 1280 application processor, created by Samsung Electronics, will be included in the new device.
With a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED display, the Galaxy A25 has an enhanced maximum refresh rate of 120Hz. The rear configuration consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels.
