Prime Video will now have generative AI-powered recaps from Amazon

Prime Video’s newest feature attempts to prevent viewers from coming across any spoilers by eliminating the need to search the internet for a TV show synopsis, which frequently runs the danger of inadvertently disclosing important plot aspects.

The release of “X-Ray Recaps,” a generative AI-powered tool that generates succinct recaps of complete seasons, individual episodes, and even segments of episodes, was announced by Amazon on Monday. Significantly, the company asserts that safeguards were implemented to guarantee the AI doesn’t produce spoilers, allowing you to enjoy your favorite series to the fullest without worrying about discovering unwelcome information.

The new feature is an extension of the streamers’ already-existing X-Ray feature, which shows facts about the actors and other trivia when you stop the screen.

Recaps can be used by going to a TV show’s detail page, where a new rewind icon will let you choose between recapping the current episode, the full season thus far, or the prior season.

Only Fire TV users in the United States will initially have access to X-Ray Recaps, which is still in beta testing. All Amazon MGM Studios original films, such as “Daisy Jones & the Six,” “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” “The Wheel of Time,” and “The Boys,” will have the feature available to consumers at launch.

By the end of the year, it will be available on more devices.
