A software adjustment that could enhance the performance of the upcoming flagship Pixel was observed to have been made by Google.
Mishaal Rahman from Android Authority reports that Google has recently highlighted a change in the Android Open Source Project that has been tested on a few devices. The modification of the source code is referred to as “Parallel Module Loading.” Disregarding the technical jargon, the essence of the change states: “Pixel 10 reduces loading time by 30%.”
It has also been reported that testing was carried out on Google’s Pixel Fold, yielding an overall reduction of 25%.
Rahman states that a 30% decrease in loading time will probably influence the phone’s startup performance, particularly its loading time. In particular, they indicate that this software upgrade will affect the “early part of the Android OS’s multi-stage initialization process.” With a quicker process underway, it appears that Google will enable faster loading for its upcoming flagship models (and the Fold). Rahman, however, points out that it is uncertain whether this modification will accelerate its overall startup.
Since this test just emerged in March, there is speculation that Google might view it as an ideal addition to a future Android 16 update.
Speculation about the Pixel 10 is beginning, including a rumor from early March that mentioned a new AI assistant. According to internal sources, Google is set to launch “Pixie,” a new assistant exclusive to Pixel devices, in the upcoming flagship series. This AI will be integrated into an app that provides cross-communication features among the apps a user has downloaded. Additionally, Pixie will handle a user’s metadata to “forecast” their actions.
According to reports, Google confirmed, “It will also be able to suggest places, products, and names at the exact moment you need them.”
Ten days ago, a small collection of supposed Pixel 10 renderings appeared, providing something more to consider. A tipster indicated that Google does not appear to be planning to implement a significant number of hardware changes — if any — for the Pixel 10 series. The leak revealed three devices: the Pixel 10, the Pixel 10 Pro, and the Pixel 10 Pro XL. The trio’s images featured the same design with rounded corners and flat edges as the current Pixel 19 series.
One key assumption, however, is that the base Pixel 10 could accommodate an extra lens, upgrading its configuration from two lenses to three.
