OpenAI recently announced that the ChatGPT software for Mac is now available to all users. The app was initially released in mid-May, but its spread was delayed and confined to ChatGPT Plus customers until recently.
According to OpenAI, the ChatGPT Mac program is designed to make it easier for users to access and ask questions regarding email, screenshots, webpages, and Mac content. With the ChatGPT software loaded, you may use the keyboard shortcut Option + Space to open a chat interface and ask ChatGPT a question.
There is a built-in Voice Mode for voice interactions using ChatGPT, as well as a search feature for reviewing previous conversations. With the wider rollout, no membership plan is required to use ChatGPT on the Mac. OpenAI has released the latest version of ChatGPT, GPT-4o, for free, but only for a limited number of requests.
Apple has partnered with OpenAI to include ChatGPT into iOS 18, iPadOS 18, and macOS Sequoia. With the user’s consent, Apple’s built-in Siri personal assistant can transfer complex queries to ChatGPT and send the results to the user.
