Nokia Lumia 920 Lookalike: Launch Pricing and Software Support Coverage Leaked

Online price leaks have revealed the launch costs for HMD Global’s Nokia Lumia 920 imitation, including the purported Business Edition variant. Remarkably, standard consumer versions will receive updates twice as frequently as their business counterpart.

The HMD Skyline is a smartphone that is rumored to be HMD Global’s first attempt at resurrecting the iconic Nokia Lumia design. Leaker @smashx_60 has released additional information regarding the device. The X account used to be mostly concerned with releasing information on its hardware, which included details about a 120 Hz OLED display, a Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 CPU, and a Samsung ISOCELL HM2 primary camera sensor. Apart from that, the leaker has released other render images, some of which we have included in this piece.

HMD Global’s projected launch pricing has now been clarified by @smashx_60, who has also provided information about the company’s stated support term. It is believed that the HMD Skyline will get Android updates for three years, which is much less than Google and Samsung’s seven-year guarantees. Furthermore, according to @smashx 60, HMD Global won’t be providing an extra year of security coverage like many Android OEMs do; instead, it will only provide security fixes during the same time frame. On the other hand, it has been reported that the HMD Skyline Business Edition (BE) would receive security patch support for five years, even if its launch price will be higher.

Since it is highly likely based on past performance that HMD Global will release a device running Android 14, all HMD Skyline variations will possibly end up on Android 17. All black HMD Skyline BE models with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage are reportedly going to be sold by HMD Global for €520. However, consumer versions are reportedly only going to come with 256 GB of storage and four different color variations, along with an 8 GB or 12 GB RAM option. At now, HMD Global is anticipated to launch the HMD Skyline around the middle of July, charging €459 for an 8 GB RAM model and €499 for an optional 12 GB RAM version.
