New AirPods Pro 2 beta firmware is being released by Apple

Apple has now released a new beta firmware designed only for the second-generation AirPods Pro, following the introduction of a new firmware for AirPods last week.

There is a new beta firmware for the AirPods Pro 2.

The build number of the firmware that was made public today is 7B5013c. In contrast, 7A305 is the most latest firmware that is accessible to the general public. Again, only the AirPods Pro 2 are compatible with this beta firmware. Although the business has been working on new capabilities for its earbuds that will help with hearing, Apple does not disclose exactly what modifications are included in the firmware that was published today.

Apple said the new features for the AirPods Pro 2 hearing aid will be available later this year, though they don’t know when exactly.

Along with iOS 18, Apple released a firmware upgrade for the AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods 4 last month, enabling new head movements for accepting or rejecting calls. Additionally, a new Voice Isolation mode with adjustable Adaptive Audio is available when using the mics.

Since it cannot be done directly, updating the firmware on AirPods is a quite complicated procedure. When your AirPods are linked with an iPhone that is online and has beta firmware installed, the update will be downloaded immediately.

To enable the Developer menu on your iPhone or iPad, download Xcode 16 before installing beta firmware on your AirPods for the first time. After that, you’ll be able to update your AirPods to beta firmware. Naturally, in order to benefit from the newest features, you must have iOS 18.
