The NBA has given groups a full training camp timeline, with head coaches permitted to work with players starting June 23, as indicated by a notice acquired by ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Players going outside of the U.S. need to report by June 15 to group markets – with the rest of players showing up by June 22, as per the notice.
Starting on June 23, the head coach can be one of the two mentors working with players in-voluntary exercises, the memo outlines.
Training camp is scheduled from July 9-29 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World Resort in Kissimmee, Florida, with three intrasquad scrimmages, as indicated by the memo.
Other key dates, as indicated by the memo:
- Season restarts on July 30.
- Playoffs start Aug. 17 and finish up no later than Aug. 29.
- Family and visitors of groups may show up in Kissimmee on Aug. 30, as groups that have been eliminated from the playoffs are withdrawing.
The league expects the NBA Finals could begin by Sept. 30.
Groups are permitted to bring upwards of 17 players to Florida, remembering 14 or 15 players for a standard NBA contract and extra two-way spots.
