There’s an air of mystery to model and influencer Raja Syn, from the exotic beauty’s pseudonym – inspired in part by her birth name – to her uber-sexy persona, a curvaceous model who could spill off the pages of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition with her curves.
Raja was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, but was raised in both Brooklyn and Baltimore by her grandparents and mother. Her work ethic is strong, and she is also courageous, thanks to growing up in two cities that helped her boldly chart her future after she realized that higher education just wasn’t her thing.
Raja graduated a year early from high school and had enrolled at the University of Maryland to study foreign language (Chinese) when she decided that she was destined for another path entirely. She left school and moved to California, then headed back east for Atlanta, after she decided that the ATL was the ideal launch pad for her career.
“Atlanta is the best place to pursue a career in the entertainment industry for a black girl,” she said.
Bold choices get bold results
Raja was always a breathtaking beauty, and friends and family were quick to tell her that she should consider modeling due to her gorgeous looks and killer body, hard-won through daily workouts at the gym.
“Everyone always said I should model, but getting signed with an agency seemed impossible to me,” she said.
Still, the thought never left her mind, and even though it seemed out of reach, Raja decided to take the advice of people she loved while giving the career move her own individual twist.
“I turned to Instagram to build my brand and it’s been the best thing that’s ever happened to me,” she said.
Within a year of being an Instagram influencer, Raja had amassed 300,000 followers, all there to check out the latest photos and videos from her steamy-hot photo shoots.
There’s so much more to her story
There is still much more that Raja hopes to accomplish, and her drive and focus will likely help get her there,
“When I’m not working, I’m most likely still working,” she said. “I’m a very determined person, so when I have a goal set in my mind, it’s the only thing I’m thinking about.”
Her sculpted curves are just an example of how hard she’s worked to attain her dreams.
“Before I started Instagram, everyone used to tell me to sell workout routines,” she says. “I might put those out soon because people still ask me for them.”
In her free time, Raja enjoys curling up with a book, although no fluff for her. “I’m a really big bookworm. I like to read lots of philosophy and finance books.”
She also enjoys listening to music. Her favorites include Nicki Minaj as well as island-influenced music such as reggae, soca, and dancehall. While putting her career first has left her with little time for relationships, she has just started dating.
