Meizu Releases a Potentially Final Flagship Smartphone

As the company’s new flagship device and potentially its final smartphone, the Meizu 21 Pro is now officially official. In order to concentrate on artificial intelligence, Meizu declared earlier this month that it was leaving the smartphone industry.

It is possible that the company will eventually have second thoughts and release new smartphones—possibly with an AI focus. Currently, though, Meizu has no intentions to release any more smartphones in addition to the Meizu 21 Pro.

The Meizu 21 Pro may be the final phone made by the company, according to its announcement

Nevertheless, this phone has a lot of power. But first, let’s discuss its design. It certainly looks like its predecessor. The phone is flat on the front and back in addition to its flat sides.

The phone’s cameras are housed in three of the four tiny circles on the back. On the left side of the phone’s backplate, they are vertically aligned and directly protrude from it.

On top of the phone’s display, there is a centrally located camera aperture. There are also very thin bezels surrounding that display. Subsequent to the volume up and down buttons, the power/lock button is located on the right side.

The Smartphone has a sizable AMOLED screen and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC

6.79-inch QHD+ (3192 x 1368) LTPO AMOLED display powers the Meizu 21 Pro. The maximum refresh rate of that display is 120 Hz, and it has a brightness of 1,250 nits. It also provides SGS Low Blue Light Eye Protection and 2,160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor from Qualcomm powers this smartphone. The phone comes with 12GB and 16GB of RAM, according to the company. While the latter is available in 512GB and 1TB flavors, the former only has 256GB of storage. All Meizu models use UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM.

Two additional cameras support the 50-megapixel main camera (f/1.9 aperture, OIS+EIS): a 10-megapixel telephoto camera (f/2.08 aperture, 3x optical zoom) and a 13-megapixel ultrawide unit (f/2.4 aperture). The front of the device houses a single 32-megapixel camera with an f/2.4 lens.

In addition to 50W wireless charging, 80W wired charging is supported

Internally, there is a 5,050mAh battery, and 80W wired charging is supported by the gadget. 10W reverse wireless charging and 50W wireless charging are also available. Supported protocols include USB PD3.0 PPS and Quick Charge 4.0.

Additionally included in the package is an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that is integrated into the display. In addition, the phone features two speakers and the mEngine haptic engine. VC liquid cooling is also included. Flyme 10.5 is pre-installed on top of Android 14. Additionally, the phone has IP68 certification for dust and water resistance.

The Gadget was Released in four hues

Color options for the Meizu 21 Pro are four. It is available in Phantom White, Starry Night Black, Laurel Green (vegan leather), and Glacier Blue. All models—aside from the green one—have glass backplates.

The dimensions of the device are 164.98 x 74.42 x 7.98 mm, and its weight is 208 grams (for vegan leather) or 214 grams (for glass). Pricing for the product ranges from CNY4,999 ($695) to CNY5,899 ($820).
