Actress Juhi Parmar describes her experience taking her 10-year-old daughter to see the new movie in an open letter to Barbie.
In response to Greta Gerwig’s depiction of the well-known Mattel doll in the new Barbie movie, Juhi Parmar has penned an open letter. The actress talked about her experience taking her 10-year-old daughter to see the Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling-starring movie.
On Monday, Juhi Parmar published a four-page open letter to the newest Barbie movie on Instagram. A lot of my own audience won’t be pleased with what I offer today; some of you might email me a lot of angst, but I share this note as a worried parent to Barbie, she wrote in the caption. And for the other parents out there, please check before you take your child to the movie; that decision is yours. Don’t make the error I did! Juhi’s hashtag is “#responsibleparentingwithjuhi #parenting #parent #parent.”
“Yk instead of posting a review based on 10-15 minutes of the movie, maybe try watching the entire thing and then form an opinion,” a user commented on Juhi’s Instagram post. Additionally, you provide no examples of anything even remotely offensive in the film in your whole post. Because Barbie is a fully-fledged adult and the film covers deeper subjects than a youngster could ever comprehend, it is rated PG-13. You’re just upset because they depicted Barbie as a real woman rather than merely the ideal you’ve been feeding your kids. You would have been able to give a more insightful evaluation if you had seen the full thing (with or without your child).
One commenter said, “I knew from the trailers itself that this wasn’t gonna be child friendly.” Someone else said, “The creators of Barbie doll made it improper for kids from the start! Dresses, body curvature, and standards on the doll are improper for children.
