You can now create Audio Overviews based on Deep Research using Google’s Gemini app. This means you can convert the detailed reports produced by Gemini into a conversational podcast with two AI “hosts.”
After debuting Audio Overviews in its AI note-taking app NotebookLM last September, Google has been continuously enhancing the feature by allowing user guidance and interaction with the hosts. Earlier this week, it introduced Audio Overviews in the Gemini app for both free users and Advanced subscribers, enabling the conversion of slides and documents into conversations resembling AI podcasts.
Deep Research, Google’s “agentic” AI feature that allows you to summon Gemini to examine a specific topic by scanning the web and producing a detailed report based on its results, should find this feature even more beneficial. Once Gemini has finished creating a report, you can choose the new “Generate Audio Overview” option to hear an Audio Overview derived from the research.
