Google updates the Pixel Studio app with additional creative options

Google finally released the long-awaited Gboard integration for the Pixel Studio app with the December 2024 Pixel Drop. However, the most recent Pixel Studio update adds even more functionality, so it turns out that wasn’t the whole story.

Gboard integration, which offered the capability to create AI-powered images while typing, was the only exciting addition to the most recent Feature Drop changelog. This upgrade, however, goes above and beyond that, taking sticker design to a whole new level.

Under the “My projects” menu, the Pixel Studio 1.4 upgrade adds a new “Stickers” page with additional generative AI-powered creative expression capabilities. There is a “Create a sticker” option in this tab, which expands your options for making customized stickers.

The two options for creating stickers in Pixel Studio after updating are “Make one from an existing photo” and “Describe your sticker.” Like other AI-powered image generators, the latter allows you to enter a precise suggestion in a text box to make your concept a reality.

The “Stickers” page will contain all of your personalized stickers in addition to Pixel Studio’s pre-made ones. You may then view, control, or even remove creations that don’t live up to your standards.

In addition, Google is updating Pixel Studio server-side to include “Style suggestions” for image production. With the help of this tool, you can give your generated photographs a distinctive appearance and feel by applying different creative styles.

Freestyle, 3D animation, video game, cinematic, sketch, anime, sticker art, claymation, crochet, watercolor, construction paper, vector art, and patches are among the styles that are offered.

The Pixel 9 series is now receiving this most recent update. Given that Google has been using AI to bring previously impractical capabilities with the Pixel 8 series, it is not surprising that the company is increasing its focus on AI-powered features.
