Google is revealing new AI features that will improve the experience for Gemini Advanced subscribers in the upcoming months.
Google recently highlighted new advances, such as experimental model releases and new AI-driven capabilities, in a February newsletter emailed to Gemini Advanced customers, who pay $19.99 a month for Google AI Premium.
New Improvements to the Model
Google summarized the introduction of two test models:
- Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental: An advanced AI model created to enhance mathematics, coding, and factual accuracy jobs, increasing the efficiency of intricate workflows.
- Users may enlarge responses and follow the logic behind AI-generated answers with Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, a quick and responsive model that offers real-time explanations of its reasoning.
Recall, which was recently included to the Gemini app and NotebookLM Premium, was also addressed in the message, highlighting Google’s efforts to provide individualized AI support.
Future Plans for Gemini Advanced
Google hinted at a number of significant AI developments that users may soon be able to access:
- Improved tools for creating content
Gemini Advanced users will get access to robust tools for creating images, videos, and audio. While Veo 2 is still in the testing stage at Google Labs, Google’s Imagen 3 is already accessible through the Gemini app. Gemini Advanced subscribers may be granted early access to MusicLM or Lyria for audio generation. - Automation powered by AI
Agentic AI tools that can act on behalf of people are being developed by Google. This is consistent with Project Mariner, whose integration with the Gemini app was previously acknowledged by CEO Sundar Pichai. Furthermore, Google Workspace’s AI-driven automation may make it possible to use AI-powered analysis, create data sheets, and organize email attachments in Drive. - Stronger AI models
Upgrades to the Gemini model in the future will concentrate on handling challenging tasks more effectively. According to Google, Gemini 2.0 Pro may soon leave the experimental stage and become the standard model for Gemini Advanced users. In the meantime, it’s still intriguing to see how Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking develops.
What Comes Next?
Google describes Gemini Advanced as a “pass to next-gen AI,” suggesting that it may receive improvements outside of the Gemini app in the future. More information about these developments and how they will improve AI productivity is probably going to surface soon, as I/O 2024 approaches.
