The AI-powered “Take notes for me” tool is getting an update to record actionable next steps, and users will also be able to check live and translated captions from the last 30 minutes, among other recent changes.
History of 30-Minute Live and Translated Captions
In the past, Google Meet captions would vanish as soon as they were irrelevant to the discussion. Users may now go back and examine up to 30 minutes of caption history at their own pace thanks to this upgrade.
It is simple to follow along with earlier speech because the fresh caption history appears in between the video frames and the bottom control panel. The speaker’s name and any translations will likewise be shown by Google Meet. Users can quickly return to the live transcription by using the handy “Jump to the bottom” button.
This function is especially helpful for revisiting crucial information that was previously mentioned or for catching up on lost portions of a conversation. In the upcoming weeks, the upgrade will be made available to all Google Workspace users and those with personal Google accounts.
