Google Experiments With Video Presentations Generated by Gemini AI

The concept behind Google’s new Vids productivity app, which is being released via Workspace Labs, is that “if you can make a slide, you can make a video in Vids.” Vids, which was unveiled in April, lets users combine documents, voiceovers, slideshows, and video recordings into a timeline to produce a presentation video that they can send to colleagues. By making it accessible via the Workspace Labs preview, workspace administrators can choose which users to invite to test out the AI-driven video editor.

Vids allows you to create videos, but it’s not the same as AI tools like OpenAI’s Sora, which can produce realistic video in response to a command. Rather, Vids allows you to construct a presentation by outlining the kind of content you want Gemini to produce, and then editing the video as you see fit.

Aside from choosing one of the numerous pre-made templates, you can manually start working on your Google Vids presentation draft. You can also use royalty-free stock footage to improve your work.

But the real kicker is that you can use Gemini to write your screenplay, incorporate stock footage, and even voice it with artificial intelligence (AI) for your next presentation—all without having to say a word—as the video demonstration demonstrates.
