Google Classroom unveiled a new AI-powered tool to assist educators in coming up with questions. Using precise text input, this technology, which was introduced on Monday, enables instructors to generate a list of questions.
This text-dependent question-generation application uses Gemini and allows teachers to manually enter text or upload files from Google Drive to have the AI create questions. They have the option to export the questions into a Google Form or Doc.
The grade level, the quantity of questions, and the question type (multiple choice or open-ended) are among the many filters available to educators. Additionally, teachers can define the skills they wish their pupils to exhibit, like the capacity to assess arguments or the use of metaphorical language.
Only users who have either the Gemini Education add-on ($24 per user) or Gemini Education Premium ($36 per person) can access this functionality in Google Workspace for Education.
Google first introduced Gemini to Classroom in 2024, and it has since added more features. A vocabulary list creation tool was added in the most recent release. Additionally, it can summarize a variety of materials, including class notes and student feedback, and come up with recommendations for lesson plans.
