Galaxy Z Flip cover screens can now use the Google Wallet software

Some apps can be used without opening the phone thanks to a cover display included on more recent Galaxy Z Flip models, such as the new Galaxy Z Flip 6. Not all apps, though, are compatible; Google Wallet is one of the incompatible ones. The Google Wallet app’s full functionality can now be accessed from the secondary screen for owners of certain Galaxy Z Flip models, resolving the previous issue. Gmail app support on the cover display will soon be available to owners of Galaxy Z Flip 6.

Users of the Galaxy Z Flip series could already use Google Wallet to make payments from their foldable phones. To finish the payment, they only need to move the smartphone in close proximity to a contactless terminal. They were unable to utilize the entire app’s features from the cover display, though. This implies that, aside from making a payment, they were still required to answer the phone. For instance, when they desired to use their loyalty cards or alternate between their cards.

Users of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and 6 may now use Google Wallet directly from the cover displays

Thankfully, it appears that Samsung has quickly and quietly resolved this issue. As observed by Android Police, the Google Wallet app is now completely compatible with Galaxy Z Flip handsets’ cover displays. Google Wallet can now be added by users to the MultiStar cover display widget. Samsung’s customization center, Good Lock, allows you to customize the later widget, which is an app launcher. Apps can be included in MultiStar, a sort of “folder,” to be launched from the cover display.

The source verified that on the cover displays of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 and 6, the Google Wallet software functions as planned. It appears that Samsung made the One UI 6.1 upgrade compatible. Another possibility is that a MultiStar or Google Wallet upgrade brought support. That being said, Z Flip device owners should rejoice.

How to enable Google Wallet on the cover display of your smartphone

To enable Google Wallet on the cover display of your Galaxy Z Flip handset, simply locate and install Good Lock from the Galaxy Store > locate and install the MultiStar module > To add Google Wallet, open Good Lock, select “MultiStar,” then “I ♥ Galaxy Foldable,” then “Launcher Widget.” You can also add any other app by finding the Google Wallet icon. Include the widget.

Samsung has to do a better job of supporting Z Flip devices’ cover displays with its apps

When it comes to foldable smartphones, Samsung is the industry leader. Therefore, it is odd that their devices are not keeping up with other companies in terms of certain functionalities. The Motorola Razr+ and other similar devices let you utilize almost any app on the cover screen. Additionally, the latter eliminates the need for “workarounds,” such as configuring an app launcher widget to start apps.
