There are two sets of people in this world. One is who loves following others, doing the usual and following the crowd blindly, and the other is who loves creating his own path, even if challenges are aplenty and learn to practice patience to lead his way to the top in his unconventional ways. Belonging to the latter category is Andrey Qval Kovalev, who is a top film director, actor, content creator and business owner of his video production company in Dubai called Qval Film.
Coming this far in the entertainment world, making TV commercials, music videos and more and setting high standards for others in the industry wasn’t a cakewalk for him. He today speaks about the many challenges he faced in his journey, saying when his visions were only maturing, many people did not believe in him, including his peers. Most of them told him that art is not a serious business and even laughed at him and his dreams. However, fortunately, his parents always supported him and believed in him.
One of the difficult stages in his life was when he moved to Moscow and later in Dubai as a Russian talent. In Moscow, he had to defend his creativity and vital interests in different teams, and when he moved to Dubai at the age of 21, he had 2,000 dollars in his pocket and a camera with a stabilizer. Here, he had to downgrade his art as much as possible, and instead of making music videos and commercials for brands, he had to make film video reports at events and work in nightclubs in order to build an audience, raise money and later open a branch of Qval Film in Dubai. In creating his vision, he shot 3,000 works in seeking of his legendary style, which was hard to copy and repeat.
Andrey Qval Kovalev (@qval_director) today has indeed come a long way, after overcoming many hurdles on his path and thus highlights, “Challenges are an inevitable part of everyone’s lives; what matters is how one chooses to overcome and learn from them.”
