Recently, Google began allowing you to ask questions about your Gmail inbox using its Gemini AI chatbot on the web. Now, same capability is making its way to mobile devices. According to the firm, the Gmail Q&A feature is beginning to roll out on Android and is “coming soon” to iOS.
Google says that you may ask Gemini questions about your inbox or use Gmail Q&A to accomplish tasks like finding specific details in your emails, viewing messages from a particular sender, and summarizing communications about a topic in your inbox. Earlier this year, during its I/O conference, Google gave a glimpse of Gmail Q&A.
Gmail Q&A could be a helpful tool for sorting through your messages or discovering anything hidden in the shadows of your inbox. But be aware that not everyone can use this feature: to use it, you must have a Google Workspace plan with the Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, or Education Premium add-ons, or you must subscribe to Google One AI Premium.
Additionally, like with many generative AI tools, you should always confirm that nothing Gemini pulls up causes you to have hallucinations.
Google says it may take up to 15 days for you to see Gmail Q&A, which is beginning to roll out this Thursday.
