Airtel Introduces Prepaid and Postpaid In-Flight Roaming Plans; Cost, Expiration Dates

To enable its prepaid and postpaid customers to stay connected while flying, Airtel has unveiled new plans. According to the telecom service provider, the bundle will include high-speed data, a set number of free minutes for calling, and a limited number of free SMS services. Certain international roaming plans come with the service included, for those who prefer not to recharge individually. Reliance Jio, interestingly, also provides comparable packages for long-haul international travelers.

Both prepaid and postpaid users can purchase Airtel’s in-flight roaming plans for as little as Rs. 195. Every offer has a 24-hour expiration date. The Rs. 195 plan offers 100 minutes of outgoing call time, 100 outgoing SMS, and 250MB of data to both postpaid and prepaid users. A Rs. 295 upgrade is available for this, which includes 100 minutes of free calling, 100 outgoing SMS, and 500MB of data. 1GB of data and the same calling and SMS features are included in the most expensive plan, which costs Rs. 595. Prepaid and postpaid plans have the same features and are identical in cost.

The same advantages are now included in Airtel’s international roaming plans for those who would rather not buy a separate recharge pack. 100 free minutes of outgoing call time, 100 SMS, and 250MB of data are included with all prepaid plans priced at Rs. 2,997 and higher. The same advantages that prepaid customers receive will also be available to postpaid users who have international roaming bundles priced at Rs. 3,999 and higher.

At the time of the announcement, Airtel disclosed that, in order to facilitate connectivity for its users, it has partnered with Aeromobile, an in-flight telecom service provider located in the United Kingdom. 19 airlines operating in various international sectors are supposed to offer the service, according to the company. Airlines served by Aeromobile are probably among those that will have access to it, even though the telecom service provider did not say which airlines would.

While traveling, Airtel customers can communicate with the company’s support staff through a variety of channels. Its dedicated WhatsApp number is available for users to contact by phone or text. Its contact centre is available 24/7 to handle complaints and inquiries. Moreover, customers can access the Airtel Thanks app to track data usage, purchase more minutes, and get real-time billing information.
