The Kerala Story, Adah Sharma’s most recent release, has become the first female-led movie to gross more than Rs 200 crore net in India and is on track to earn Rs 300 crore worldwide after earning Rs 260.5 crore so far, according to the entertainment tracking website Sacnilk.com. Adah Sharma is currently enjoying the first blockbuster of her career.
The Kerala Story has also been labelled as “Islamophobic” by a certain segment of the community because it is based on the alleged radicalization and conversion of young Hindu women to Islam in Kerala before they were recruited into the terrorist organisation Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS).
Adah continued, “She watched the movie then and sent him a message that he has pinned to the comments, and he is so happy with it because she said I watched the movie and you are actually telling us how people are misusing Islam. Because you point out how others are abusing our religion and how our religion isn’t like that, you are actually doing our religion a service.
The Kerala Story also has Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, Sonia Balani, Vijay Krishna, Pranay Pachauri, and Pranav Misshra in significant supporting roles in addition to Adah Sharma. Suipto Sen is the director of the contentious movie, and Vipul Shah is the producer under his company Sunshine Pictures Pvt Ltd.
