A New Phone With Satellite Connectivity Could Be Released by OnePlus

OnePlus 12 flagship, which is currently in the number series, might get a huge update with the upcoming major operating system update before the company’s next-generation smartphones appear, according to new renders of the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus 12 may be able to enable satellite connectivity with the Android 15 Beta, so it seems. Significantly, Google has started to distribute Android 15 Beta 2 to a number of Android smartphones from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), including Vivo, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, and Xiaomi.

OnePlus is probably going to release a smartphone with satellite connectivity shortly, according to a report from Android Authority. In the current Android 15 Beta, the OnePlus 12 Settings app has a section labeled “Satellite mobile phone,” as reported by X, a former Twitter account OneNormalUsername (@1NormalUsername).

A new OnePlus 12 model with satellite communication capabilities has not yet been formally launched by OnePlus, which is important to note.

However, if the report is accurate, it is possible that such a variant could be released later this year. Therefore, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt. Additionally, the handset with satellite connectivity may be launched outside of China. Presently, there are no Android smartphones outside of China that support satellite connectivity.
