Samsung has replaced Google’s Gemini with its “Galaxy AI” software in the Chinese market.
According to CNBC, Baidu, a Chinese company, will provide “Ernie” for Samsung’s Galaxy S24, which will handle all the heavy lifting for its Galaxy AI software (via The Verge). According to reports, the bot is Baidu’s “response” to OpenAI’s ChatGPT, which has amassed more than 100 million users.
Ernier will “translate content and summarize lengthy content into clear, intelligently organized formats,” the company said in a statement.
According to Baidu, its chatbot is also capable of responding to users in a “humanlike” manner. The “most powerful” version of the chatbot since its launch in November 2022, Ernie 4.0, was released by the company in October. According to the publication, the software has additional capabilities like understanding and reasoning.
Furthermore, The Verge reports that Baidu enhances the S24’s real-time call translation functionality in conjunction with a Google Circle to Search version.
