Next month, Malaysia is expected to witness the official launch of the new OnePlus 12, which was previously announced for the global market. With 4th generation Hasselblad cameras and a plethora of other features and upgrades, the phone is outfitted with Qualcomm’s most recent flagship Snapdragon chip.
Although OnePlus Malaysia has confirmed that only one memory configuration will be available locally, the phone’s specifications are the same as when it made its debut in China last month. The 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display on the OnePlus 12 has a refresh rate of 120Hz, 3168 x 1440 pixels, and a maximum brightness of 4,500 nits. Those specifications are summarized here. A fingerprint sensor located beneath the display, Dolby Atmos-tuned speakers, IP65 water and dust resistance, and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection are among its other features. A new integrated antenna requires repositioning the alert slider, which is also back, this time to the left.
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 flagship chipset with 5G support powers the new OnePlus flagship. Its memory configuration for the Malaysian market will be 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage and 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. A sizable 5,400mAh Li-Po battery that supports USB-C 3.2 Gen1 fast charging at 100W, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging powers the phone in the meantime.
Regarding imaging, the rear arrangement of the 4th generation Hasselblad Camera for Mobile consists of an IMX581 48MP ultrawide, an OV64B 64MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a LYT808 50MP primary shooter. A 32-megapixel IMX615 selfie camera is located on the display, inside the punch-hole cutout.
On February 3, 2024, the OnePlus 12, which will retail for RM4,599, is expected to make its way to Malaysia. Only the Flowy Emerald and Silky Black colorways are available for the local market. Unfortunately, the white version will continue to be available exclusively in China.
