CES 2024: Infinix Unveils AirCharge, E-Color Shift, and Extreme-Temp Battery Technologies

At this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024, Infinix, a brand owned by Transsion Holdings in China, is showcasing its most recent E-Color Shift technology. Smart phone screens can now change and hold their color without using power thanks to the latest technology that uses E-Ink Prism. The company also showcased its concept devices, the AirCharge and Extreme-Temp Battery, at the gathering. With the help of the AirCharge, users can charge their smart devices wirelessly thanks to multi-coil magnetic resonance technology. To solve battery freezing problems in extremely cold and hot temperatures is the goal of the Extreme-Temp Battery.

The E-Color Shift technology was unveiled by the Transsion Holdings subsidiary at the CES ShowStoppers event, along with the AirCharge and Extreme-Temp Battery. Smartphone panels can reflect and change color dynamically without using power thanks to the E-Color Shift using E-Ink Prism. By displaying time, mood, and other features in a matrix arrangement, this would enable users to customize the back cover of their phone. Through distinctive phone designs, users can express their individuality and convey unique information in a way that goes beyond simple color changes. Liang Zhang, Deputy General Manager of Infinix Mobility, stated that this gives their device a modern appearance and feel.

When charging smartphones, cables are no longer necessary thanks to AirCharge technology. With the use of adaptive algorithms and multi-coil magnetic resonance, this charging technology enables wireless charging at 60-degree angles and up to 20 centimeters of distance. It provides up to 7.5W of charging power and operates below 6.78MHz. This would allow people to play games or watch videos on their devices while conveniently charging them under their desks.

The goal of the Extreme-Temp Battery is to solve the widespread problem of lithium-ion batteries in conventional batteries freezing in extremely cold weather. The novel technology combines solid-state fusion technology and biomimetic electrolyte on the electrodes to function in a range of temperatures. With a charging temperature range of -40°C to 60°C, it is stated to function in as low as minus 40°C.
